Chris Ellefson

Chris Ellefson is FutureGen Consultant for BHP Billiton Energy Coal. Chris recently completed a 27 year career with BHP Billiton in the role of Vice President Commercial Development, Energy Coal Americas. Previously, Chris served in various executive and operating roles in the United States, Australia, and South Africa including VP and General Manager, San Juan Coal Company: VP Knowledge Networks; VP Commercial and Business Development, Ingwe Coal Company; Mine Manager, La Plata Mine; and Mine Superintendent, Norwich Park Mine. He served as VP of the New Mexico Mining Association and Board Member on the South African Chamber of Mines. He also served on the boards of the Richards Bay Coal Terminal and the Navajo Mine Federal Credit Union.
Chris holds a B.S. degree in Mining Engineering from the University of Arizona.
